Ralph Pusey / Barton Scholarship
Ralph Pusey, a lifetime member of the Kansas City Chapter of ASIS, and Barton Protective Services, Inc. make this scholarship available. This scholarship became available in 2001. The amount of the scholarship may vary depending on the available funds in the account for each year.
Below are the requirements for the scholarship:
- Security practitioner (first preference)
- Law enforcement ASIS member in crime prevention, etc. (second preference)
- Law enforcement ASIS member (third preference)
- Member in good standing, both local and national ASIS
- Active member in the chapter
- Priority will be given to those applicants who are using the scholarship for continuing education (i.e. BA, BS, MA, or MS) in security or other related subjects such as safety or management. Security related seminars (CFE, EHS, etc. seminars) may be given consideration on a case by case basis.
Guidelines
- Intentions for use:
- Academic Advancement in the Security or Safety fields applied to either a degree or advanced degree such as a Masters or Doctorate.
- Any course of study offered by ASIS
- Covered items within the ASIS Programs:
- Books and materials
- Class Fees
- Testing Fees
- Travel expenses
- Limitations on time to utililize.
- The recipient of the Pusey-Barton Scholarship must fully utilize the award within two years of the date of receipt of the award.
- If the award is not used by that time, it is expected that the recipient return the amount of the award, in full, to the Chapter for reallocation.
