Jared Oakden, CPP, PSP, CC

Jared Oakden is a Senior Security Consultant at Burns & McDonnell. Prior to that, Jared held other positions in security consulting and corporate security management positions in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries.

Jared graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. from CSU Northridge and then attended George Mason University, earning a M.A in Global Affairs with an emphasis in Global Security. Much of his coursework at George Mason focused on Terrorism, WMDs, and Intelligence, centered on U.S national security.

Jared is a board certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International, Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) from ISC2, and certified in interview and interrogation techniques by Wicklander-Zulawski and Associates. He enjoys work focused on enterprise security risk management, risk assessment, and insider threat. He and his wife have been married 15 years and have 4 children, ages 7 to 13.

Retired Deputy Sheriff. Yale School of Mgmt Executive Education Women’s Leadership. Proud member of ASIS International , Kansas City ASIS Vice Chair (2024), Past Kansas City ASIS Council Liaison.

Member of ASIS Women in Security Council and ASIS W.I.S. Steering Committee. I have had the pleasure of serving as Children’s Mercy Co-Chair for Injury Prevention, CMK Co-Chair Kansas Intimate Partner

Violence Task force and Co-chair Children’s Mercy Council Violence Prevention.
